Not that anybody is surprisd, but Menino won yesterday's election by 2 to 1. Duh. Since he is the city's first Italian-American mayor, in our neighborhood - the Noth End - he is immensly popular and the local merchants make a contest of who can have the most "For Mayor Menino" sign in their windows. What we've found most surpising about this election is that we never heard anyone refer to the party either major candidate belonged to.
