Boston Blogosphere Heats Up
First, you had the JohnnyBagODonuts vs Jay Fitzgerald of the Herald (hey that rhymes) fued. Which ended classily, if maybe a bit anti-climactic (As well as a smattering of other bloggers vs traditional media spats).
Then Cowboy came down from his throne to sling a little mud about rumors and controversy dealing with how Bostonist's publisher, Gothamist, doesn't pay the bloggers responsible for the popular network's content.
And finally, we have the emergence of the first real competition to our publisher Boston Web Properties, a network of blogs all written by local realtor/blogger John A. Keith. Its worth noting that back in mid November BWP contacted John asking him to be the first blogger in our network and he obliged, so we set up iBostonRealEstate.com. But he ended up pulling out a few weeks later, concerned that he would be creating competition for himself. We understand, harbor no hurt feelings, and wish John the best of luck in his endeavor. In fact we welcome the competition and the increased attention it will give this sector of the blogosphere.
