Seamless 2.0: Geeky Fashion Show

We admit to being geeks. In fact we're proud of it, but we're also a fashion whore. So when we heard about Seamless, the fashion show at the Museum of Science "where science meets art" we just had to go. We were surprised by the fashion week-esque atmosphere at the event, with a bar and great lights. Waay cooler than we expected. We took some pictures while sipping a glass of scotch so we much apologize for the blurry nature of the images (and they're out of chronological order, bear with us). With that said, lets carry on:

Wind People by Kate James, an archtecture student at MIT, the garments function as "an interface between body and environment".

Heartbeat Hoodie by Diana Eng, a Project Runway contestant and RISD alum, has a camera built in that is involuntarily triggered by the wearer's excitement levels.

Hidden Agenda by Jen Paulousky of Blue Alvarez Designs, has built in ear muffs, gas mask and gloves and is designed to protect the wearer in violent situations.

Fendi Ghetto Blaster, by Francesca Granata, SMFA alum, is a class critque comprised of a vintage Fendi bag with a boombox built in.

taptap by Leonardo Bonanni, Jeff Lieberman, Cati Vaucelle and Orit Zuckerman, all from MIT, is designed with tactile memory in mind and can remember and simulate the touch of a loved one.

Arabiia, by Ayah Bdeir, a masters student at MIT, is a comment on media sterotypes of arab women. The garment changes from a belly dancing costume to a burka.
