In the past we've remarked on the disconnect between those living in Boston and those living in the suburbs, and when you read about suburban deer hunters, you start to think it might look a little like the movie Deliverance out there.

''We call it suburban hunting," said McCarthy, a retired police lieutenant who lives in Framingham. ''It's kind of wild." From his deer stand, he said, he can see a house, people, and cars going by.

Pretty soon the soccer moms are going to be driving into the woods in their Volvo SUV's to go kill themselves a real fur coat. One can only hope.
