BPD Blog Finds Its Voice

Is it just me, or did the BPD blog suddenly get a bit more, uhm, clever in the past few months? Back in the halcyon days of November '05 we got this sort of thing:

At 1700hrs this evening, an off-duty Boston Police Officer in the area of Evelyn Street in Mattapan, observed two armed suspects shooting firearms at one another.

This could totally have been a blockbuster, edge-of-your-seat crime thriller, but no, here it's just boring.

But since early 2005, we've been treated to wordplay, wittiness, and the occasional double entendre, like this:

A store clerk at Virgin Records on Newbury Street received a hit of her own yesterday when another customer, 39-year-old Nizza Ohovwore, approached her and began asking her personal questions. When she turned away from the suspect, he charged at her, striking her several times on the back of her head.

We salute whoever the adept wordsmith at the precinct is. The byline says it's "Media Relations", but we want more. We want a name, a face to put to these cunning lingual skills.

What's your favorite BPD blog quip?
