Ayla Brown Off American Idol

As we reported a few weeks ago, the greater Boston area had a local teen hopeful on this season's American Idol. Ayla Brown is State Senator Scott Brown's daughter, and she had the full brunt of his political machine on her side. Rumors surfaced that her dad's status as Republican candidate for lieutenant governor (he was said to be on a short list as a running mate for Kerry Healey) was put in jeopardy — or at least on hold — because of her Idol appearance.

Luckily for him, last night Ayla got cut:

Towering above Ryan Seacrest, our girl from Wrentham reacted tearfully to the news, exclaiming ''I never cry!" as Seacrest tried to console her. About her ''Idol" experience, she said, ''The most valuable lesson for me personally has been to realize what's important in life."

Well, maybe not luckily, since Healy already picked a running mate, so they both lose. But at least maybe now her Myspace Profile will become public again.
