Mark Godes’ Blog Shut Down

Last month we mentioned Mark Godes, who used to be child advice columnist Bobby Simpson. We snarked about a typo, and the "melancholy" nature of the longing-for-yesteryear article that we suspect sparked his reemergence in the world of advice-giving.
Well. It seems Mark was ego surfing (searching for your own name) and found our post and it struck a nerve. So when we poked a bit of fun at his buddy Adam Gaffin, something snapped inside of him and he let loose on us. Seemed like a lot of pent up rage, who knew? We quite enjoyed his little temper tantrum (and welcome any more):
My comment is actually in reference to your recent posting regarding my Boston.com “Bobby Simpson” relationhip blog a few weeks back in which you called it “melancholy.” Now, a guy, who calls his site by the real happening, upbeat name, “Puritan City, describing another guy’s webpage as being melancholy is really rather rich, wouldn’t you agree? As for my noted typos, I write my blog while maintaining a full-time, 60 hour a week job. Besides, I think they make my page seem homey. Anyway, it’s great to know guys like you give guys like me the added exposure we so desperately seek. (Well, in your case, I don’t know exactly just how much exposure I’m getting via Puritan City, you know, because who really looks at it? The only reason I did was because it came up on a Google search of my name) And just to give you a heads-up, if you think my webpage is rather depressing, wait until you get a load of my book, which will be hitting bookstores nationwide next fall. Let me tell you right now, it’s a real downer.
His day job and the book "hitting stores nationwide" must have been too big a load, or his boasting about traffic might have been a different kind of load, because today we read this:
We have discontinued the Relationship Advice weblog until further notice.
Uh oh. We're a little worried because it seemed like the blog was a great way for him to let off some steam — now what's he gonna do?
In the best interest of the greater Boston area, we'd like to extend an invitation to Mark Godes to join BWP. You know the deal: we'll design, develop, and host the site. You just give all the advice you can muster.
Whaddya say, buddy?
