Cocaine-Inspired Clothing Hip, Says Herald

Ghostface Killah, lyrical assassin and member of Wu-Tang, has got a new CD coming out. It's called "Fishscale." For any out there who don't already know, "fishscale" is a slang term for high quality cocaine, stuff so pure it is said to reflect light like fishscales. Normally, a rapper using a drug reference is no big deal, but on this album the Herald says Ghostface will be rocking clothing made by the Boston-based clothing label, Fishscale. The WeeklyDig obviously gets the reference, but do the people at the Herald?

Another rap-act, Clipse, has also agreed to wear Fishscale gear; this time it's their "signature Baking Soda T-Shirt." At this point, the meanings should be obvious to anyone, including the seemingly cloistered Herald writers. Wasn't there an outcry of indignation from this paper over the rapper-beloved "frowning snowman" t-shirt? (Which by our calculations was a much more oblique reference…)
