Naked Women, a Strip Club, and Feigned Innocence
Let's be real here. People who make visual ads have eyes. They also have brains, and they realize that a little "controversial" buzz is a great thing, especially when that buzz is about nudity and the advertiser is a strip club. This morning we have Inside Track feigning innocence and posturing prudism about a "mishap" in shadow placement on an ad for Centerfolds in this week's Improper:
Improper gossip gadabout Jonathan Soroff said he hadn’t checked out the Centerfolds ad where the shadowing in the snapshot is way off-Center.
“But I tend not to look at ladies’ private parts,” he sniffed, adding that he thought the photo faux pas was “unfortunate in the extreme.”
What is so unfourtunate about it? In the name of journalism, naturally, we picked up a copy on our commute and so we've seen the ad. Yes, it's a woman's private parts, and yes, we think it was intentional — and if they don't surface by this evening, we will post pictures, for all of you too lazy to walk the 5 feet to your nearest Improper distro box.
