Greenroofing (one word) is a nifty trend that has sprouted (please excuse the terrible pun) in many cities, including Chicago and NYC, and it's coming to Boston this weekend. The Fourth Annual International Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities, Conference, Awards & Trade Show (what a name) is taking place at the Hynes May 11 and 12th.

The two-day conference will consist of plenary and specialized sessions focused on three main topic areas:
1. Policies and Programs to Support Green Roofs
2. Green Roof Design and Implementation
3. Research and Technical Papers on Green Roof Performance

We've been a fan of this idea since we first saw pictures a few months back, and even though we can't put a few feet of sod on our roof just quite yet, we do want to put some trees up there.
